Sustainability

By eating plant-based meals you’re already on your way to helping out the environment! But there are even more ways that we can do our part to help. That’s why, when it comes to our packaging, we’d love it if you could help us reuse, recycle, donate and compost as much as possible. Here is some info to help get you started:

Our Boxes

1

Our Boxes

What are they made from?

100% recycled cardboard.

What should I do with it?

You can break them down and include them with all of your curbside recycling. Of course, if you want to save them for storage, build a tiny fort, or provide a hangout for your pets, we’re cool with that too!

Insulation

2

Insulation

What are they made from?

The liner is 85% cotton and 15% polyester fiber. The cotton fiber is organic material that will compost and degrade. The liner casing (the outer "bag") is polyethylene.

What should I do with it?

The cotton in the insulating liner will compost and degrade — you can put it in your trash and it will break down! The liner casing is recyclable.

Meal + Sauce Containers

3

Meal + Sauce Containers

What are they made from?

Up to 40% recycled polyethylene.

What should I do with it?

All of the containers assosciated with our meals are recyclable – yay! You can find a recycling center location by checking here. Those paper meal sleeves are recylceable as well. They are also a nice paper stock, so feel free to reuse them and unleash your creative side :‍)

Ice Packs

4

Ice Packs

What are they made from?

99% water, 1% polymer, polythylene.

What should I do with it?

Our ice packs are reusable so feel free to keep them for yourself! If not, we recommend donating the ice packs to places that could really use them – for example local food banks, churches, shelters, Meals on Wheels or Girl and Boy Scout organizations. If you’d like to dispose of them, they can be cut open and discarded in the trash – the inside liquid is 100% non-toxic and mostly evaporates since it is mainly water. You can then recycle the outer liner.
